Description: Members of 2/3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) compete fencing on horseback. Others take part in a "Victoria Cross race", rowing small coracles across a stream. This is followed by a sword demonstration by ex-Corporal-Major Eggleton of the Royal Horse Guards. On foot, using a regulation Cavalry sword, he cuts through a piece of wood held by two men. A celebrity in uniform, described as "Mr Holman James (Fred Lindsay)" holds an apple on the flat of his palm and Eggleton splits the apple with a single blow. He repeats the trick blindfold with James bent forward and the apple resting in the nape of his neck. Finally Eggleton cuts, in one blow, through the suspended carcase of a sheep.A lady riding sidesaddle over a jumping course attempts to take a high fence. She and the horse crash over it, but both recover from the fall apparently unharmed. The Corpus Christi procession comes out of the college chapel into the open. The pupils, in Army uniform, present arms and lead the procession through the college grounds. The leaders of the abortive rebellion of September 1915, about fifty men altogether, are marched together on foot by South African police. Although not identified, at the front of the group are probably Christian de Wet and Kloos de la Rey. Some of the men deliberately hide their faces from the camera.
